Banner Slogan:

A fully accredited day school for students in grades 1-12 with dyslexia and language-based learning disabilities.

Why choose Fraser Academy?

We have one goal at Fraser Academy: to help students with dyslexia and other language-based learning disabilities become successful learners.
The school is set up to help students achieve this: not only are classes small (no more than seven students on average), but each student at Fraser Academy receives a daily, one-to-one language training session with a Orton-Gillingham-trained tutor.

Teaching staff spends an extraordinary amount of time with our students to develop close, trusting partnerships.
Our teaching principles and practices are based on over 25 years of frontline experience and our practical, classroom-tested methods such as multisensory teaching techniques are influenced by the latest research on human intelligence, cognitive development, dyslexia and learning disabilities. This way, students with dyslexia can make use of multiple areas of the brain in trying to establish clear memories of letters, words and numbers. All teachers and tutors are Orton-Gillingham trained.

Students also remain in their classes.
At traditional private schools and public schools, those with language-based learning disabilities are often pulled out of regular classes to a resource learning room. Students understand the reason for this, but they often feel stigmatized. At Fraser Academy, everything is scheduled—from core and enriched curricula to daily one-to-one tutoring—so students never miss out on (to paraphrase one learner) “the good stuff.”
