The GVISSAA Track and Field Championships were held Thu, April 29 at Minoru Park in Richmond. This meet has been hosted by Fraser Academy since its inception and is always a huge success. This year the meet consisted of 8 teams with Fraser entering 25 athletes. Many athletes competed hard on the sunny day and there were some outstanding results.
The coaches conferred after the meet and have come up with male and female athletes of the meet for Fraser Academy. Top Fraser Male Athlete is Eric Yen; he ran in the 100 m, 400 m, 800 m, and 4 x 100-m relay. Top Fraser Female Athlete is Michaela Hanemaayer; she won her race in the 100-m heats and was 3rd in the finals, 400-m, and 4 X 100-m relay.
Thanks to everyone that helped on the day of the event, especially to Mr. Eccles, Mrs. Marshall, Ms. Currie, Ms. Elworthy & Ms. Hoogewerf.

Vancouver Kids Marafun:
Twenty-one Jr. School students participated in this year's Marafun on Sunday, May 2! Since March, these students have been running during PE and logging their efforts with the goal of completing almost a marathon (42.2 km) before race day, with the last 1.6 km completed on race day. Students braved the early start and the rain to accomplish their goal. Way to go! See the photo at right of our school's participants.
