Boost Camp

**BOOST CAMP IS NOW FULL**

July 5 to 30, 2010 | Monday to Friday | 8:30 am to 12:15 pm

Cost: $1,700

Fraser Academy Boost Camp is open to students (from all schools) entering grades 4 through 8. Students who are enrolled fulltime at Fraser Academy may register for Boost Camp by the week; all other students are required to enroll for the full four weeks.

Our half-day Boost Camp is designed to build students' language arts and/or math skills through daily one-to-one Orton-Gillingham tutoring. Students also choose a workshop elective:

Music: This workshop is geared to give youths a positive music experience while learning to play their favourite instruments along with the music they like--pop and rock songs. This is a great opportunity for kids to find a way to express themselves.

Novel Study| Creative Writing: Campers will read and study a novel (chosen based on age and ability level) that will provide thematic material for creative writing. Campers will also use multimedia to delve into others methods of storytelling.

Drama|Scriptwriting: Campers will explore vocal and kinesthetic expression, as well as create their own drama productions, focusing on scriptwriting skills, plot development and characterization.

Visual Arts: Campers will have a hands-on experience of (mostly) digital media, including photography and related programs such as Photoshop.

Math (small group): Campers will brush up their (age-appropriate) mathematics skills using contemporary technology for hands-on learning.

Computer Skills|Keyboarding: This workshop focuses on keyboarding; campers will also become more familiar with programs such as Word and PowerPoint, as well as Internet search techniques.
